1. Set Realistic Goals: Overcoming the challenges of depression and learning to manage your symptoms is a process. I plan my week in and out so I can know my short-term goals. As for my long-term goals, they are written down as well in my calendar or notepad.
2. Celebrate Small Successes: Success no matter how big or small I celebrate it. Especially when I feel a pass of depression.
3. Positive Self-Talk: Practicing some positive self-talk helps the brain shift from a negative mindset to a positive one.
4. Express Gratitude: Increasing self-awareness of positive aspects is something that needs to be done daily.
5. Meditation: Meditation helps you relieve stress and helps lift your energy throughout the day.
Getting over depression is not easy and we all have to remember we have all of the resources to help us get better inside. Meditation and other outlets like the gym really help us stay focused and mentally stable. Just remember to follow my steps and stay positive through it all.
