Chestnut Grill Review

Chestnut Grill is more like Chest NOT!! welcome to one of Orangeburg's finest restaurants. With non-regular hours the lines of the parking lot are always full when they do open. Today April 9th I had the chance to dine in and eat at this luxurious spot. As I entered the place the smell of seafood and ribs hit my nose and a calm relaxed noise made my ears tingle, I felt welcomed. The two ladies at the front were very polite and nice letting me know there is a wait time of 25 min. which of course I didn't mind it gave me time to look at the menu on my phone and call a friend or two.

Minutes later I was seated by a young lady who didn't care enough to remember my name calling me Tae instead of Ty but that's okay I just politely corrected her.

Now I am sitting waiting and my waitress comes over happily giving off great energy and proceeds to give me the menu and gives me time to look over it.

Pricing is a little on the heavy side for the food options but there are cheap dishes you can get separately as well as a kid's menu.

As my dishes, I ordered mozzarella sticks, breaded shrimp, side salad, broccoli and cheese as well as croissants.

Mozzarella Sticks:  4/10 The cheese between the sticks was stiff and thick.

Breaded shrimp: 6/10 Some pieces of shrimp were fried together which made the batter still uncooked between the shrimp. which caused me to not eat half of my meal.

Side Salad: 8/10 The salad was tossed with fresh veggies which included a load of ranch sauce.

Broccoli and Cheese: 2/10 The broccoli itself was unsalted and bland as the cheese they did not use the correct cheese instead a carnival version. I've never wanted it or had it that way.

Croissants: 9/10 Coated in honey

The scenery is good for date night and even a friend date. the customer service is excellent my server was fantastic!  but food could be a little better.
